近年来，中印双边贸易年均增速均在30%以上，贸易额不断刷新纪录，1991年双边贸易额仅为2.65亿美元，2007年达到387亿美元。在1991-2007年的17年间，中印贸易额增长了145倍。 目前, 印度是中国在南亚地区的最大贸易伙伴和在全球范围内第八大贸易伙伴，中国也成为印度第一大贸易伙伴。

In recent years, China-India bilateral trade has repeatedly set new records with average annul growth rate of more than 30 percent. It reached 38.7 billion USD in 2007 in contrast with only 265 million USD in 1991, growing 145 times in 17 years. At present, India is China’s largest trading partner in South Asia and and the 8th largest in the world, and China has become India’s largest trading partner.

According to the statistics of Ministry of Commerce of the P. R. China, up to March 2008, the accumulative contract value of projects signed by Chinese enterprises in India reached $11.57 billion, with a turnover of $5.027 billion. India has now become the largest overseas project-contacting market for China.

      2006年11月，中印签署《投资保护协定》，双方企业相互投资也有了一个良好的开端。中国华为技术、中兴通讯、三一重工、比亚迪等大型企业集团已经在印度建立研发或生产基地；印度大型企业如塔塔集团、信实集团等也纷纷进入中国市场。

In November 2006, China and India signed the China-India Foreign Investment Protection and Promotion Agreement, providing enterprises of both sides a better environment in two-way investments. Chinese large-scale enterprises such as Huawei Technology, ZTE Telecom., SANY Group and BYD Group, etc. have entered into Indian market and set up large scale R&D or manufacturing base. In the meanwhile, some well-known Indian corporations such as TATA Group and Reliance Industry have established their facilities in China as well.
