Bilateral economic and trade relations between China and Bulgaria have gained the long-term and steady development, Chinese products soared in popularity and also enjoyed the high reputation in Bulgaria. China has sped up the export of the mechanical and electrical products to Bulgaria, including the heavy machinery.

Rapidly Developing Bilateral Trade
自1991年开始，中保两国实行现汇贸易方式，当年双边贸易额1.18亿美元。自2000年开始，双边贸易额呈稳定上升势头。2007年，两国贸易额达9.69亿美元，与1991年同比增长721％。

Since 1991, China and Bulgaria introduced spot exchange trade, and bilateral trade volume was 118 million USD in that year. Since 2000, bilateral trade witnessed steady rising momentum. In 2007, trade between the two ries amounted to 969 million USD, a 721% growth compared with that in 1991.

More and More Chinese Companies Are Marching toward the Bulgarian Market
中国企业开拓保加利亚市场日趋活跃。2004年11月，华为公司在保电信公司移动项目招标中中标承建保电信公司GSM核心网、智能网以及60％的基站。2005年，中兴通讯公司中标独家承建保首个DWDM项目。

Chinese enterprises are increasingly active in investment in Bulgaria, particularly in the IT industry. In November 2004, Huawei won the bid for the construction of GSM core network, intelligent network, as well as 60% of the base station for the mobile telecoms projects in Bulgaria Telecoms Corporation. In 2005, ZTE won the exclusive contract for the construction of the first DWDM project in Bulgaria.
