Since China and Azerbaijan established diplomatic relation in 1992, the bilateral trade has increased fast and steadily. Azerbaijan has already become the most important trade and economic co-operation fellow of China in south Caucasus.

Since China and Azerbaijan established diplomatic relations, the export scale China expanded continually and steadily. Following the continually improved quality and grade, Chinese commodities are liked by more and more Azerbaijan people.

The energy cooperation is a very important part in the whole economic cooperation between China and Azerbaijan. China Petroleum and Gas exploration Co. came into Azerbaijan to develop oil and gas resources cooperated with local companies since 2002. By the end of 2007, its accumulated investment had reached 300 million USD and its accumulated crude oil production up to 2 million tons.
