改革开放以来，中巴经贸关系取得了稳步发展。目前，巴西是中国在拉美的最大贸易合作伙伴；中国是巴西的第二大进口市场和第三大出口市场。2007年中巴双边贸易总额达到创纪录的297.05亿美元，同比增长46.4％;其中中方出口113.72亿美元，进口183.33亿美元，同比分别增长54.1%和42%。

Since China’s reform and opening up, China-Brazil economic and trade relations have made stable development. At present, Brazil is China’s largest trading partner in Latin America; while China is Brazilian second largest import market and third largest export market. In 2007, China-Brazil bilateral trade volume set a new record of $29.705 billion with a growth rate of 46.4% year-on-year, among of that, China’s export volume is $11.372 billion and import volume $18.333 billion with a growth rate of 54.1% and 42% year-on-year respectively.

By the end of 2007, the contract value on projects, labor service, design and consultant service stood at $2.67 billion, while the total turnover amounted to 1.32 billion; China’s non-finance direct investment accumulated to $150 million covering major projects like mining，timber processing，motor manufacturing，home appliances assembly，etc. Brazil totally established 431 foreign funded enterprises in China with actual utilizing of foreign capital of $240 million, mostly covering regional aircraft manufacturing，compressor production，coal，real estate，auto parts production，hydro-electric power，textile garments and other projects.

      在科技合作领域，1999年以来中国和巴西联合研制的地球资源卫星01星、02星、02B星相继发射成功。中巴在卫星领域的合作被誉为南南高科技合作的典范。

In the field of scientific cooperation, the earth resources satellite 01, 02 and 02B were launched successfully one after another, which were jointly developed by China and Brazil. The cooperation on satellite area between China and Brazil is honored as the model of South-south Hi-tech Cooperation.
