1978年前后，中圭双边贸易额约为290万美元，2007年中圭贸易额达8656万美元。近年来两国间贸易已呈现出较好的发展势头，贸易额增长迅速。

China-Guyana trade volume amounted to 2.9 million U.S. dollars around 1978 and reached 86.56 million U.S. dollars in 2007. In recent years, bilateral trade has already shown good momentum of development with rapid growth of trade volume.

China’s assistance project Guyana International Conference Center is by far the largest aiding set equipment China in Guyana which promoted the development of China-Guyana relations and had important functions to deepen bilateral cooperation. It is also called “another witness of China-Guyana friendship” by the president of Guyana.

      圭亚那斯凯尔顿糖厂是迄今为止圭亚那最大、最现代化的糖厂，也是目前为止全球最大的单机生产线。该糖厂由中国公司承建，已于2008年下半年竣工，工程造价约为1.2亿美元,是中国在圭亚那最大的国际承包工程项目。

Guyana Sikaierdun Sugar Factory is by far the largest and most modern sugar factory in Guyana, and it is also the largest single production line at present in the world. This sugar factory is contracted and built by a Chinese company, which was completed in the later half of 2008 with the project cost of 120 million U.S. dollars. Furthermore, it is China’s largest international contracted project in Guyana.

      2007年3月，重庆市博赛矿业（集团）有限公司成功并购圭亚那欧迈铝矾土开采有限公司70%股权和欧迈电力有限公司100%股权。该并购的成功实施标志着在“走出去”战略指导下，中国企业在圭资源型项目取得的一次重大成功。

In March 2007, the Bosai Minerals Group Co., Ltd. of Chongqing City successfully mergered 70% equity stake of “Oumai Bauxite Mining Limited” and 100% equity stake of “Oumai Power Limited”. This successful merger and acquistion signifies that Chinese enterprises make a great achievement on Guyana resource-based projects under the guidance of the “going global” strategy.

      2008年6月11日，首批中国援圭青年志愿者顺利启程回国，他们在教育、医疗和农业等领域开展了为期一年的志愿服务工作，为促进中圭友谊、加深中圭友好作出了贡献，被圭总理誉为“中圭友好的民间使者”。

On June 11, 2008, the first batch of young volunteers who launched one-year volunteering work on many areas in education, medical treatment and agriculture started going back to China. They made great contribution to the promotion of China-Guyana friendship and deepening of China-Guyana amity and they were honored as “China-Guyana Friendly Civil Envoys” by the prime minister of Guyana.
